One of the talented best actors of yesteryears Ramakrishna was in fine mood to speak on his 39 years ago flashback at the screening of ‘Babruvahana’ at Sri Renukamba Digital Theatre.

I was in Gubbi company playing small roles. Rajanna spotted me and took me in his car to Kanteerava studio where makeup man Keshav son of well known make up man Subbanna started working on my face. I was hoping that a female role would be offered to me. When the crown was fixed on the head and costume was fixed I was sure it would be Lord Krishna role. It happened so. When I came to the shooting spot, very senior actors were happy. Sarojamma said I am good at it and I should be finalized. It still lingers in my ears. When Dr Raj hugged me it was definite of a role. I was extremely happy.


Look at the fortune all senior actors touch my feet in the film. It was advantage and disadvantage for me. When I went around people stopped me and said I should not accept small kind of roles. Look at fortune because of that role I have been able to sail for 40 years in this industry.


‘Babruvahana’ is equal to 100 Baahubali kinds of films. It remains a complete film made in the days of no technology support says Ramakrishna one of the unforgettable actors of Kannada cinema.
